Telemed
November 1969 -- October 1975
- Archtect Real-Time Medical Data Collection System
- Architected and implemented a system to accept three-channel ECG data transmitted over telephone
lines. Real-time software was written in Sigma 5 assembler (SDS/XDS). Our system was required to
sample three channels of data for 20 phone lines to 10 bits of precision 500 times per second.
- User Interface
- Developed the method of user interaction and overall architecture of the system, using
only a flashing light.
- Distribution system
- Assisted in design of the distribution system, which transmitted English language reports
over the dial-up telephones network to printers at the client hospitals.
- Pattern Recognition
- Participated in the early phases of the rewrite of
the pattern recognition and wave
measurement/classification system.
- Compilers
- Ported the XPL programming language to two of the operating systems used at our site, RBM
and BPM.
- Documentation Tools
- Created utilities using XPL including editors and document layout utilities for
fixed-width fonts.
